This set of custom cherry cabinets serves as the foundation for a client's basement home theater and video game system. The cabinets contain the electronic AV components for the theater (satellite TV receiver, HD-DVD player, multiple game consoles, etc.) as well as all the associated media (game cartridges, DVD movies, etc.). In addition to the cherry cabinetry, this project involved the installation of a large 52" LCD high-definition TV (which was wall-mounted), a powerful multi-zone AV surround-sound receiver, and a multi-speaker audio system. The AV system also drives a separate flat panel TV in an adjacent Home Pub, which is great for multi-screen viewing of sports broadcasts.
As seen in the photos above, raised-panel solid cherry doors encompass the front and sides of these custom cabinets, which are capped with a matching cherry-veneered countertop. The cabinet interiors are built from prefinished maple plywood and prefinished baltic birch drawer boxes. Black iron handles and a profiled cherry base molding give the cabinets a definite furniture-like appearance. A dark stained finish emphasizes the beautiful cherry lumber and complements the leather furniture in the room.
146" wide, 32" tall, and 18" deep.

Cabinet pricing is dependent on a wide variety of factors that can drastically alter the final cost. Cabinet quantities/sizes, material selection, construction methods, accessories, and finishes all impact the pricing. The cherry cabinetry shown on this page cost approximately $4,100, including materials, labor, and installation. Labor to install, wire, and tune the home theater components was extra.
