This veneered stand was custom-made to display and illuminate a beautiful 3D glass sculpture. The veneer used is a highly figured razor-mottled anigre, which has a filled pore polished finish. A narrow slot in the top of the display stand, which is completely covered by the sculpture base, allows the light from an internal fluorescent fixture to fully illuminate the sculpture and highlight the many intricate details in the glass. As seen in the photos above, the lighting is visible in a brightly lit room and is especially dramatic in low light conditions.
