Description

Built for a client's vacation home in the mountains, this modest kitchen uses Northwest alder as the lumber of choice.  Alder is becoming a very popular alternative to maple and cherry and is also available in a very "knotty" variety that provides a distinctively rustic look.  In this case, clear alder was used for a more contemporary feel and a clear finish was used to retain the medium brown color of the wood.  All doors are solid wood raised panels, and the upper cabinet doors have gently arched raised panels for a more interesting appearance.  Black iron hardware matches the dark colored appliances and crown molding caps off the upper cabinets.

Pricing

Cabinet pricing is dependent on a wide variety of factors that can drastically alter the final cost.  Cabinet quantities/sizes, material selection, construction methods, accessories, and finishes all impact the pricing.  The alder kitchen cabinets shown on this page cost approximately $10,500, including materials, labor, and installation.
