This contemporary desk, pair of hutches, and matching bookcase were commissioned for the client's young daughter as an early Christmas gift. Incorporating clean, simple lines and with a neutral white finish, this furniture set was intended to remain compatible with future decorating changes that might be made in the daughter's room. In order to blend in with the current room decor and color scheme, the back panels of the two hutches and the bookcase were finished with a distinctive pastel green, then accented with a subtle white glaze. A matching green wall-frame, which holds two corkboards and two magnetic dry-erase boards, was built to go behind the desk between the hutches. This frame was personalized by engraving the daughter's initials along the top rail. Finally, to make sure that the pastel green backs of the hutches and bookcase wouldn't clash with future room colors, those panels were built to be "reversible" - the opposite sides were finished with neutral white, so those cabinets can be easily changed to an all white appearance if desired.
Desk: 68" long, 22" deep, and 30" tall. Hutches: 52" tall, 14" wide, and 11" deep. Bookcase: 82" tall, 33" wide, and 12" deep.
